Professor Jane Lewis has research interests mainly in the field of gender and family policies, both historically and comparatively. She also maintains an interest in the third sector. Over the past decade she has contributed a series of publication on lone parents, marriage and cohabitation, risk and intimate relationships, and work/family balance policies in England and in other Western European Member States. She is now working on dimensions of the history of social policy since 1945 and on a series of studies of parents’ relationships with older children and of parenting policies.
