This 5-Month Intensive (Post)Graduate Programme consists of several courses including two advanced research seminars, one including the Gender staff and one tailor made for the (post)graduate students called the Reading/Writing seminar. As an international candidate you’ll be assigned a mentor with whom you’ll have individual meetings to discuss your programme and your progress. In addition to the courses we offer the Doing Gender Lecture Series as well as master classes with experts in the field of gender and postcolonial studies in co-operation with the Postcolonial Studies Initiative, the Graduate Gender Programme and the Centre for the Humanities, all Utrecht University. The Intensive Programme runs yearly from February 1 to June 30. The Intensive Programme will be launched with a welcome by Prof. Dr. Rosemarie Buikema. This session serves to provide candidates with further details on the training programme and general background information on Women’s and Gender Studies and Practices of Feminism in the Netherlands.

Prerequisite: A Master’s degree in gender or gender-related areas. The Centre for International Recognition and Certification of the NUFFIC (Netherlands Organisation for International Cooperation in Higher Education) in The Hague sets the standard for the procedures for the recognition of foreign qualifications. The NOG Board will make a profound evaluation about the global value of your foreign higher education.
In order to successfully participate in this programme, you must be proficient in English. If your first language is not English, you must certify proficiency in English when you apply (see the application form for more information).

The tuition fee for this programme is €2500,- (including use of the university library and university internet facilities). Fees are exclusive of room, board and insurance.

A certificate is issued after successful completion of all requirements. Please note that this 5-month training doesn’t officially constitute a MA or PhD degree, although an ECTS system is in place.
