Maaike Muntinga (she/they) works as an assistant professor at the department of Ethics, Law and Humanities at Amsterdam UMC. Her research centers on diversity, equity and inclusion in health care. She specifically focuses on gender and sexuality, and the application of theoretical frameworks, such as intersectionality and queer theory, to everyday health care challenges. Maaike also works as a medical doctor at the Centre for Sexual Health at the Public Health Service (GGD) in the larger Utrecht area.
