The sad news reached us that Paul Mepschen has passed away. Some of you might have known him or his work.
Paul was an Assistant Professor at UCU, where he taught among other topics on decolonizing anthropology and the anthropology of power. Paul has given many guest lectures in our courses and the NOISE Summer School. He was very much known for his work on sexual nationalism and his articles were compulsory literature in quite a few courses in many gender studies courses. Paul was also a dedicated political activist across socialist, antiracist, and LGBTQ+ movements.
