This afternoon is dedicated to the farewell address of prof. dr. Gloria Wekker. She has been part of the UU Gender Studies team for nearly 20 years and made a significant contribution to the design of the UU Gender and Postcolonial Studies teaching and research programme.
Central to the symposium will be the presentation of Gloria Wekker’s White Innocence: Paradoxes of Colonialism and Race (Duke University Press, 2016).
Detailed program will be announced soon. Speakers will include: Philomena Essed, Rosemarie Buikema, Nancy Jouwe, Domitilla Olivieri, Maayke Botman, Phoebe Mbasalaki and Halleh Ghorashi.
