Gohar Parissa Rahimi is a Joint PhD Candidate at the University of Utrecht (Department of Media and Culture Studies) and the University of Bologna (Department of Modern Literature, Languages and Cultures), curriculum EDGES (European PhD in Women’s and Gender Studies). Her research interest is focused on contemporary articulations of feminisms. Her research project, ‘Pop Feminism Between Literature and Media Discourse’, is centred on contemporary feminism in the neoliberal era. The research aims to investigate the contemporary articulations of pop feminism in Italy, the UK and the US. In addition, she is  interested in studying how central themes of feminisms – such as agency, empowerment, identity, and subject positioning – are represented by contemporary pop feminisms in the literary and media realms.
